Letter from LCTA President Bill Ennis

The LowCountry Tennis Association, in a unique Private/Public partnership with the Town and Recreation Department of Mount Pleasant, along with USTA South Carolina, is pleased to announce a Significant Court Improvement Initiative/Project

We Listened and had many Comments/E mails regarding the court quality and issues of courts 9-12 at the Mount Pleasant Tennis Center. Therefore, in discussion with Mount Pleasant Town Council and the USTA, we have all committed to a combined $77,000 refinishing construction project to provide improved playability and enhanced safety moving forward.

Our Great Thanks to the Mount Pleasant Town Council who approved the project last week and will contribute $42,000 to the initiative. Additionally, the LCTA and USTA SC which will contribute a combined $35,000 to the project.

Contributions:

$42,000 – Town of Mount Pleasant

$20,000 – Lowcountry Tennis Association

$15,000 – The USTA South Carolina

_______________________

$77,000 – Total Proceeds

The Health and Safety of our LCTA players has always been a Core Objective – and this will add enhanced tennis enjoyment for all over the next several years.

Our great thanks to our partners – The Town of Mount Pleasant, The Recreation Department and the USTA South Carolina.

The conclusion of the project is targeting early May when the LCTA Local Playoffs begin but it could take longer, given the extensiveness of the initiative.

Bill Ennis and the LCTA Board of Directors
