Total Team Default

Rule Explanation:

  • Majority of Positions: Teams are required to field the majority of positions in a match. This means that more than half of the positions must be filled by players.
  • Total Team Default: If the team fails to field the majority of positions, it results in a total team default. This means the team forfeits the match entirely.
  • Grievance: In the event of a total team default, a grievance will be filed against the entire team. This could lead to further disciplinary actions or penalties as determined by the governing body.

This rule ensures that teams make a genuine effort to compete and maintain the integrity of the match.

The Maybank Mixed 3.5 40 and Over Team, Captained by Lance Tyner, is going to the National Championships in Orlando this November!!

An exceptional accomplishment as they won Southern Sectionals to advance to Nationals.

Great Story:

The Maybank team had won one court and had lost another playing in the South Carolina State Championships Final- so it was tied going into final court. Maybank team had split sets with their opponents and was tied 7-7 in the 3rd set tie breaker, the winner of the tie breaker would go to Sectionals.

Maybank Wins!

Once again – at Southern Sectionals Finals the Maybank team had won one court and lost another – so tied coming into third court match. Maybank team had split sets 1-1 with their opponents and was tied 8-8 in the third set tie breaker, the winner of the tie breaker would go to Nationals Championship.

Maybank Wins!

Congratulations to Lance Tyner and his dynamic team. The LCTA has awarded Maybank $1,000 to offset costs for Nationals and our support is there every step of the way!
