LTP Mount Pleasant Hosts Men’s Tennis
ATP Challenger Tour
September 25 – October 2, 2022

Mount Pleasant, SC – LTP (Live to Play) Mount Pleasant is proud to announce the first Men’s ATP Challenger Tour in Charleston happening September 25, 2022 to October 2, 2022, at their Mathis Ferry Road location. Rising stars in the ATP, along with seasoned professionals, will take to the courts for this week-long tournament. This is the first time a Men’s ATP Event will be held in the Lowcountry in many years.

Admission is complimentary and additional seating will be on hand for spectators to watch international, national and local players compete. With the blazing popularity of the WTA 500 Credit One Charleston Open, LTP organizers envision the men’s tour to catch on similarly and see this opportunity to expand the community’s love of tennis.

“At LTP, we’ve hosted many different WTA and ITF tournaments over the years and seeing the community’s appreciation for professional tennis is astounding. We knew adding a men’s tour element to our repertoire and the Lowcountry would be vital. From Australian player Jordan Thompson to University of South Carolina alumnus Paul Jubb to young American Brandon Holt, who had a spectacular run at the US Open this year, spectators will get front row views of these players from around the world; some on the cusp of becoming the next lauded tennis champion. They’ll also get a chance to see champions from the past who have a generous following from their years on the ATP Tour.” said Patrick Hieber, Director of Tennis for the combined LTP facilities.

LTP (Live to Play) Mount Pleasant is a haven for tennis enthusiasts of all ages and is located at 1513 Mathis Ferry Road. As a family-friendly sports complex, LTP offers nine clay courts, seven hard courts and two pickleball courts with full outdoor lighting. LTP Mount Pleasant is the home of a high-performance junior academy, Pate Academy, the LTP Pro Player Development Program with several WTA and ATP players training there full-time, the Synchronicity Wellness Center and also the Wahoo Aquatic Club.

In 2021 and 22, LTP Mount Pleasant has been the host site for a WTA 125, two (2) ITF $100K’s, an ITF $60K, the ITA College Tennis Women’s All American Championships, the USTA Girls 18s National Clay Court Championships, and six (6) UTR $25,000 events.
